Amigurumi ghost pattern

Welcome to the first blog on my new site! I am so excited to share this free crochet pattern with you just in time for Halloween. I LOVE Halloween, its my favourite holiday, but I am not about the scares, its all about the spooky cute for me. This pattern ticks all those boxes, its cute, its spooky, and it wants to be your friend.

Materials needed

• Any DK yarn of choice 50g I used an off white, but any white or even glow in the dark yarn would work.

• 3mm Crochet hook

• 6mm toy safety eyes

• Yarn needle

• Black wool for mouth

• scraps of coloured DK yarn for flower

Terminology

This pattern uses US crochet terminology and is worked in single crochet (sc) unless otherwise specified.

• inc - increase, two sc into one stitch

• sc - single crochet

• slst - slip stitch

• mr - magic ring

• 4dcbob - 4 double crochet bobble stitch

• dc - double crochet

• tr - treble crochet

• dec - decrease

• FLO - front loop only

• BLO - back loop only

Main body pattern

• 6sc into a magic ring

• Row 1: Inc x6 (12)

• Row 2: sc, inc x6 (18)

• Row 3: 2sc, inc x6 (24)

• Row 4: 3sc, inc x6 (30)

• Row 5: 4sc, inc x6 (36)

• Row 6: 5sc, inc x6 (42)

• Rows 7-16: sc round (42)

• Row 17: 15sc, 4dcbob, sc 10, 4dcbob, 15sc

• Row 18: 13sc, inc x3 (45)

• Rows 19-21: sc around

• Row 22: 14sc, inc x3 (48)

• Row 23: FLO skip 2, 6tr in next st, skip 2, slst in next st x7 (48)

• Place eyes 9 stitches apart between rows 10 and 11.

• Sow a small mouth using black yarn using the image as a guide

• Sow 2 cheeks 1st wide using pink yarn using image as a guide. I sowed 3 times to add thickness to the cheeks.

• BLO row 23: 7sc, dec x6 (42)

• Row 24: 6sc, dec x6 (36)

• Row 25: 5dc, dec (30)

• Row 26: 4dc, dec (24)

• Stuff - Be sure not to overstuff, otherwise the base will bulge.

• Row 27: 3dc, dec (18)

• Row 28: 2dc, dec (12)

• Row 29: dec x6 (6)

• Finish off, sow closed and weave in ends.

• Sow a small mouth between the eyes using the photo as a guide

Make flower

• Using colours of your choice

• 5sc into a magic ring, fasten off, leave a long tail for sowing.

• Change colour. Join new colour to one of the stitched in the mr. Chain 6, slst into the same stitch.

• slst into the next stitch, chain 5, slst in to the same stitch x4
